T12 Engineering has secured a new contract to provide engineering and project management services for the transportation of a 100-tonne subsea reel from Norway to the UK, further strengthening its growing presence in the Norwegian market.

It will see the engineering consultancy deliver a comprehensive scope of work covering project management, seafastening design, engineering support, HSE management, load-out mobilisation and load-in attendance, alongside full interface coordination across the supply chain, vessel and receiving facility.

The award follows a period of sustained growth for T12 in Norway, including the successful design and delivery of a gravity-based structure (GBS) from Immingham to Norway for an independent Norwegian oil and gas operator.

The reel – roughly the weight of an empty Boeing 737 airliner or 70 family cars - stands at 11.5m (37ft) high and 5m (16ft) wide, is being returned empty to its UK owner after being used in a subsea umbilical installation.
