Yorkshire engineering specialist HJ Consulting Engineers (HJCE) has strengthened its team with a series of appointments as it invests in its operations to support continued growth and enhance its service offering.

Mani Ghomi has joined the business as Technical Director - Civil Engineering. His responsibilities include providing technical leadership and guidance across civil engineering design projects. As a member of the senior management team, he will play a key role in developing and mentoring the civil engineering team, supporting professional growth, technical excellence and the continued strengthening of the department.

He brings more than 40 years of experience to the role, having held senior positions with a number of leading UK civil and structural engineering consultancies. Throughout his career, Mani has delivered both commercial and residential developments, providing technical leadership on projects ranging from individual developments to large-scale, complex schemes. His expertise spans infrastructure design, drainage, highways and development engineering, supporting clients across both the public and private sectors.

The company has also appointed Dennis Tomlinson-Wrenn as a Structural Engineer and Sun Myung as Finance Assistant, supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance department.

Dennis joins HJCE's structural engineering team with experience in structural design and technical engineering, alongside specialist expertise in materials design and the development of innovative engineering solutions.

With revenues targeted to exceed £2.5 million over the next 12 months, HJCE plans to continue recruiting engineers following a strong first quarter. The business is seeking talented professionals who can help drive growth across the UK, particularly within the commercial, telecommunications, transportation and geoenvironmental sectors.

Managing Director Andrew Fairburn said the firm is expanding on the back of investment in skilled staff and will continue to recruit as the business develops.

"This is an exciting time for us as we pursue growth, introduce new services and continue to take on increasingly challenging and ambitious schemes as the business matures.

"Mani, Dennis and Sun Myung are highly regarded professionals, who embody the values and ambition of the firm. Their appointments are a welcome boost to operations and reflect the strength and depth of talent we are bringing to the business."
