Newcastle-based engineering consultancy RWO has secured a series of new ground investigation and structural engineering contracts, marking a significant expansion of its national geoenvironmental services.
The undisclosed five-figure package involves delivering site investigation and structural engineering support to CU Phosco – a leading specialist in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of high-mast lighting aprons. The work spans infrastructure sites across the UK, including roads, ports and airports.
RWO’s Geoenvironmental Department, working closely with its Structures Team, has already undertaken ground investigations at both Liverpool John Lennon and Manchester International airports. The airports are currently enhancing their operations with upgraded LED security lighting, and RWO is overseeing the initial airside improvement phases.
The company is also carrying out ground investigations in Stevenage, where CU Phosco has been appointed by the local authority to replace lighting masts across the town centre.
These latest projects come amid a busy period of growth for CU Phosco, with RWO’s geoenvironmental team now targeting £1 million in annual revenues by 2026. Recent project wins also include work with PD Ports at Tees Port and Banks Group.
Chris Rudd, Director of Geoenvironmental at RWO, said:
“We are seeing a rapid expansion of our operations, building our growing footprint of national work for CU Phosco. Along with other clients, they benefit from the added value insight, fully integrated turnkey services and leadership the RWO group of engineering services brings to client work.
“Looking ahead, we are seeing opportunities across the UK as the commercial and industrial sectors continue to invest in improving their infrastructure and operations. Indeed, there’s plenty of geoenvironmental engineering work in the long term with even more projects coming online soon.”
RWO continues to support major construction and infrastructure schemes nationwide, providing civil, structural and geoenvironmental engineering services to housebuilders, developers, and infrastructure providers.
