What More UK Unveils New 80,000 sq ft Facility to Support Future Growth and Automation

What More UK, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of housewares, cookware, and storage products, has announced the completion and opening of its brand-new 80,000 sq ft facility at its production site in Altham, marking another major milestone in the company’s continued expansion.

Constructed by Readstone Construction, the impressive development provides state-of-the-art warehousing, office, and welfare space, designed to meet What More UK’s growing operational needs and future ambitions. This takes What More’s square footage over 550,000 in total.

The new facility has been built to the highest modern standards, incorporating high bay racking and Toyota automation systems to optimise efficiency and handling capacity.

Featuring an ultra-flat floor slab with a tolerance of just ±1mm, the building supports precision movement of automated systems and advanced material handling equipment.

Other key features include:

  • Six dock leveller bays for streamlined logistics and dispatch operations
  • 1,380m³ of concrete used in the external yard construction
  • Energy-efficient, sustainable design ensuring long-term environmental performance

The development has been engineered for scalability, ensuring it is future ready for growth and automation, aligning with What More UK’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in British manufacturing.

Readstone Construction delivered the project from construction to completion, working closely with What More UK’s management and design teams to create a facility that reflects both the company’s operational demands and its long-term vision for sustainable growth.
