Newcastle-based engineering consultancy RWO has been appointed to support the delivery of a major new housing and commercial development at Wynyard Village, near Stockton-on-Tees.

The firm is providing full civil and structural engineering services to Cameron Hall Homes, which is currently developing phase one of the Stoney Wood scheme – a 13.9-hectare site set to feature 76 two, three, four, and five-bedroom homes. A further 81 homes are expected in phase two, subject to planning approval.

RWO’s support includes extensive pre-planning input, flood risk analysis, structural design, and the negotiation of local authority sewage adoption agreements. Its in-house geoenvironmental team has also completed complex ground investigation work to prepare the site.

The firm is also delivering engineering input into the creation of a new commercial centre at Wynyard Village. The 175 sq. m facility will offer 12 units, including two two-storey spaces, available for lease by local businesses. Construction is due to start in early 2026, with completion expected later that year.

This latest appointment builds on a period of rapid growth for RWO. The Seaton Burn-based business now employs 41 people and is targeting revenues of £4.4 million in FY2026. A growing pipeline of data centre, energy and infrastructure projects is supporting continued expansion and recruitment, including at its geotechnical office in Stokesley.
