RAW Charging ("RAW"), the leading electric vehicle (EV) chargepoint operator for the leisure, hospitality and retail sectors, has launched a major new EV charging hub at Parrs Wood in Manchester in partnership with Landsec, delivering 26 new charging bays as part of a £24.5 million nationwide rollout.
The new facility offers a mix of ultra rapid, rapid and fast charging options and is designed to support the growing number of EV drivers visiting one of Manchester's most popular leisure destinations. To mark the launch, drivers can enjoy free charging at the new hub from Friday 29 May to Monday 1 June 2026 by signing up to RAW Rewards.
Parrs Wood attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year and is home to a Cineworld cinema, Tenpin bowling centre, Nuffield Health gym, restaurants and a range of leisure attractions. The new charging infrastructure enables visitors to charge their vehicles while making use of the site's amenities.
The Parrs Wood development marks the third major hub launch under RAW Charging and Landsec's nationwide partnership, which will see more than 1,000 charging bays installed across 28 flagship retail and leisure destinations. The rollout is expected to continue throughout 2026, with both organisations committed to upgrading legacy infrastructure and expanding access to modern EV charging technology.
RAW Charging says the investment supports its mission to make EV charging faster, more accessible and more convenient, while helping destinations attract and retain visitors as electric vehicle adoption continues to grow.
Jason Simpson, CEO of RAW Charging, commented:
"We are thrilled to launch our newest EV charging hub with Landsec at Parrs Wood, Manchester, a destination that truly embodies our mission to connect amazing places. By bringing reliable, rapid, and accessible charging to where people spend their time, we're not just powering vehicles, we're powering experiences.
"This Is a further step in a transformative national rollout that will see RAW Charging and Landsec deliver the UK's most customer-centric EV charging network across iconic destinations. We look forward to welcoming drivers to Parrs Wood and to many more Landsec sites in the months ahead."
Mark Welsby, Centre Manager at Parrs Wood, added:
"We are absolutely delighted to welcome RAW Charging to Parrs Wood. As one of Manchester's leading leisure destinations, it's vital that we continue to enhance the experience for our visitors, and the addition of RAW's state-of-the-art EV charging hub does exactly that.
"With so many people coming here to enjoy our cinema, bowling, gym, restaurants and more, having reliable and convenient charging on site means guests can relax and make the most of their visit. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this will have for our customers and the wider community as we support the transition to greener travel."
