Award-winning commercial vehicle specialist CPD Bodies will open its new Farizon North East showroom later this summer, marking another major milestone in the company’s ongoing expansion and diversification strategy.
Based at CPD’s Stockton-on-Tees headquarters, Farizon North East is already operational, supplying and supporting Farizon’s next-generation electric commercial vehicles for businesses across the North East and beyond.
The Farizon line-up in the UK consists of the SV and V7E van ranges. Both are born-electric platforms designed specifically for commercial use, combining innovative technology with class-leading payload and load capacity.
An official customer and stakeholder launch event is planned for late August. More than simply a new dealership, however, the investment forms part of a wider period of growth for CPD, which has created more than 20 new jobs across engineering, production, technical support, sales and aftersales over the past 12 months.
The expansion reflects increasing demand for specialist commercial vehicle conversions and practical electric fleet solutions, as businesses across multiple sectors continue evaluating the transition towards lower-emission transport.
CPD announced its strategic partnership with Farizon in a joint release at the CV Show in April.
Alongside the dealership operation, CPD has also been appointed as a strategic conversion partner for the Farizon SV platform, becoming one of the first businesses in the UK to combine electric commercial vehicle retail, specialist conversion capability and aftersales support under one roof.
Customers visiting the Stockton-on-Tees site can also explore CPD’s Good2Go Zero Welfare Van, developed as the first dedicated welfare conversion built on the fully electric Farizon platform.
Cathal Doocey, Chairman and Owner of CPD Bodies, said:
“This is a major moment for our business. We’ve invested heavily over the last year, not just in facilities and infrastructure, but in people, skills and long-term capability.
“The launch of Farizon North East reflects where the market is heading and where we believe commercial vehicles are going. Businesses are looking for practical electric solutions that work operationally and commercially, and we want to be at the forefront of delivering them.
“We’re proud to be creating jobs, investing in the region and bringing something genuinely new to the North East commercial vehicle market.”
The official opening event will take place at CPD’s Stockton-on-Tees site and will bring together fleet operators, businesses, industry partners, local stakeholders and members of the public to explore the new facility and Farizon vehicle range. Further details will be announced in the coming weeks.
Farizon is the new energy commercial vehicle business of the Geely Group and is China’s number one electric commercial vehicle brand. Farizon is distributed in the UK by Jameel Motors.
